The Tilta MB-T12-95 clamp-on backing is the rear part of the MB-T12 clamp-on matte box for lenses with a 95 mm front diameter. It screws to the rear of the matte box and tightens directly around the front of the lens, so the MB-T12 sits on the lens with no rods and no rubber donut. The backing is aluminum alloy with a stainless steel clamp screw; two spare tightening toggles are included.

The Tilta 95mm Lens Attachment for MB-T12 is the backing that clamps the MB-T12 matte box onto a lens with a 95 mm front diameter. The full MB-T12 kit includes backings for 80, 95, 110, 114 and 134 mm; this single backing suits the single-backing version (MB-T12-Mxx) or replaces a lost one.

The backing screws to the rear of the MB-T12 body and the clamp screw tightens it around the front of the lens — the matte box thus holds directly on the lens, without rod support and without the rubber donut that would otherwise seal the gap between lens and matte box. Swapping the backing for another diameter is a matter of a few screws, so one matte box serves a whole set of lenses.

95 mm diameter, aluminum and stainless

This backing is for lenses with a 95 mm front diameter; the other diameters (80, 85, 87, 104, 110, 114, 125, 134 and 136 mm) have their own MB-T12-xx backings. The body is aluminum alloy, the clamp screw stainless steel, and two spare tightening toggles are included in case the originals go missing on set. The backing fits the MB-T12 matte box and its single-backing version MB-T12-Mxx.

The MB-T12 is sold as a full kit with five clamp-on backings, or as a version with a single backing matching your lens diameter (80, 85, 95, 110, 114 or 134 mm). Additional backings, 4×5.65″ filter trays, the carbon fiber top flag and the 15 mm LWS rod adapter are sold separately, so the matte box grows as lenses are added.
