The Atomos Ninja Phone is a video coprocessor that, when paired with the free Mavis Camera app, transforms a compatible iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or later into a 4K monitor, recorder, and streamer for a DSLR or mirrorless camera with HDMI. The Ninja Phone receives a 10-bit HDR 1080p or 4K video feed from the camera via HDMI and transmits it via USB-C to the mobile device, whose high-quality display can be used in both portrait and landscape orientations with professional monitoring tools. When combined with Mavis Camera, it enables recording, live streaming to major platforms, and dual-recording for an efficient “Camera to Cloud” workflow. Simply mount the unit on a compatible iPhone, connect the camera using a short, lockable Atomos USB-C cable, and select the source in the Mavis app. To use an iPad, you’ll need the Clamp Extender, sold separately. The Ninja Phone thus utilizes the display, Wi-Fi/5G connectivity, and storage of the device you already have with you as part of a compact camera rig.

The device receives HDMI from the camera and records up to 4K video. On a compatible iPhone Pro, it supports 10-bit Apple ProRes; H.265 and H.264 are available for more space-efficient files. Connecting your phone via Wi-Fi or 4G/5G simplifies both streaming and the Camera to Cloud workflow.
