Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G is a bidirectional rack converter for three separate 3G-SDI channels in an SMPTE-2110 infrastructure. A single 10G Ethernet port links up to six SDI devices – each channel has its own SDI input with loop output and a separate SDI output. It works in HD up to 1080p60 and supports PTP synchronization, NMOS, and control and diagnostics on a color LCD display.

Three 3G-SDI Channels for an IP Studio

It converts three independent SDI sources to SMPTE-2110 and three IP sources back to SDI at the same time. Thanks to the loop outputs, the converter fits straight into an existing HD workflow.

Reference from the PTP clock

The Tri-Sync or Black Burst reference output is timed to the PTP clock of the 2110 network, so even older equipment without an IP interface can lock to it.

AC or PoE+ power

Internal 100–240 V power supply or power over the network cable from PoE+; power usage 20 W.

PTP and NMOS

IEEE 1588 PTP v2 (ST 2059) synchronization and NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 for device discovery and connection management.

Compact chassis

A 140 mm wide chassis with front panel control: 6 buttons, spin knob and 2.2″ color LCD display.

Routing and diagnostics right at the rack

The 2.2″ color LCD display shows video, format, audio and timecode and is used for menus and diagnostics. IP sources for the SDI outputs can be selected from the front panel; the front USB-C port is used for setup and updates.

Six SDI devices on one cable

A single 10G Ethernet port carries three input and three output channels up to 1080p60, each with up to 16 channels of embedded audio and ancillary data. The SDI loop outputs let you insert the converter into an existing signal path without interrupting it.

Point to point or a large network

The converter can be connected directly to its counterpart without a network switch, or plugged into an SMPTE-2110 network with connections managed via NMOS, just like a traditional video router. It is controlled from the front panel, over the network or via USB-C.

The rear panel has an AC power input, three SDI inputs, three SDI loop outputs, three SDI outputs, a reference output and a 10G Ethernet port with PoE+; USB-C is on the front.
