Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 8x12G SFP links eight independent bidirectional 12G-SDI channels to an SMPTE-2110 infrastructure. The 1U rack design uses eight 10G SFP ports for long optical Ethernet links, supports HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p60 and offers control on the front panel LCD display. Each channel has its own 12G-SDI input and output, plus there is a separate PGM program input with loop output.

Eight separate 12G-SDI devices join an SMPTE-2110 network through eight optical SFP ports – even over distances that copper cable cannot reach.

Optical fiber for long runs

The SFP slots accept common 10G Ethernet optical modules for long runs. The converter links distant equipment without any loss of quality.

PTP and NMOS

IEEE 1588 PTP v2 (ST 2059) synchronization and NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 connection management for control from a router panel.

Blackmagic IP10 codec

When converting 12G-SDI rates to 10G 2110 IP video, it uses the low latency IP10 codec.

Front panel control

2.2″ color LCD display, 12 buttons, spin knob, speaker and 6.35 mm headphone output.

Signal checks right at the rack

The 1U chassis has a 2.2″ color display, twelve buttons and a spin knob for configuration and diagnostics. The built-in speaker and 6.35 mm headphone output make on-site audio checks easy; the front USB-C port is used for setup and updates.

Eight channels in both directions

Each of the eight channels has its own 12G-SDI input and output with 16 channels of embedded audio. The converter detects SD, HD, Ultra HD and 4K DCI automatically and regenerates the SDI signal (reclocking), so it sends a clean, low-jitter signal to the network.

Into large SMPTE-2110 networks

Connections between devices are made via NMOS IS-04 and IS-05, so the converter works with router panels and control software. Configuration and updates use the 1G Ethernet port or USB-C 3.0.

The rear panel has dual AC power inputs, eight 12G-SDI inputs and eight outputs, a PGM program input with loop output, eight SFP slots for 2110 IP optical links and a 1G Ethernet port.
