DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor is a compact editing keyboard for DaVinci Resolve with a large search dial and keys only for the functions an editor really needs. Unlike a mouse, it has a dedicated control for every editing function and lets you work with both hands at the same time. It connects via USB-C or Bluetooth, has a built-in battery and comes with a DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key.
Editing in rhythm with the large search dial
Speed Editor puts the most used Cut page functions right under your hands: In and Out keys, edit modes and the large search dial shorten the path from choosing a shot to a finished timeline.
DaVinci Resolve Studio included
Speed Editor comes with an activation key for the full version of DaVinci Resolve Studio – for editing, colour correction, effects and audio.
Second key functions
Some keys have a second function when held or double pressed – for example, double pressing Escape works as Undo.
Transitions at a single press
The Cut, Dissolve and Smooth Cut keys add or remove a transition on the edit currently shown by the smart indicator in the timeline.
Search dial for live trimming
The large machined metal search dial with a soft rubber coating allows very accurate search and positioning on the timeline. Press a trim key and it turns into a control for precise real-time trimming – your left hand selects the mode while your right hand trims.
Source tape
The Source key shows all your media as a single source tape you can scroll through quickly with the search dial, while the current clip is highlighted live in the bin. After an edit the viewer stays in the source tape, so you can move straight on to the next shot.
Large In and Out keys and smart edit functions
In and out points are set with large keys you can find by feel. Right above them are Smart Insert, Append, Ripple Overwrite, Close Up, Place on Top and Source Overwrite, which use the smart indicator in the timeline, so most of the time you do not need timeline points at all.
Shuttle, Jog and Scroll
The Shuttle, Jog and Scroll keys change the function of the search dial for fast winding, frame-accurate positioning or scrolling through a long timeline. Playback starts and stops with the large Stop/Play key positioned under your thumb.
Camera keys and Live Override
The camera number keys select shots in the Cut page sync bin. While you turn the search dial, the selected camera is written straight into the timeline; with the Live Override key latched you cut between cameras like on a production switcher. Video Only and Audio Only keys are included too.
Bluetooth and built-in battery
Speed Editor has built-in Bluetooth, so you can use it without cables next to your regular keyboard – perfect with a laptop. It can also be connected via USB-C, which charges the built-in battery and is used for configuration and updates.
Dimensions and weight
Speed Editor measures 245 × 156 mm, is 44 mm high and weighs 780 g, so it fits in a laptop bag.

Source Tape Instead of Endless Clicking
The DaVinci Resolve Cut page uses a “source strip”—after pressing Source, you can quickly browse through all media using the search dial, while the current clip remains highlighted in the bin. After inserting a clip, the viewer stays on the source strip, so you can move on to the next clip without interruption.
The large in/out buttons are easily distinguishable by touch. Your right hand controls transport, and your left hand sets points and performs cuts; meanwhile, the smart indicator on the timeline determines the target of the operation without unnecessary mouse switching.
Workflows at Your Fingertips
A large, high-quality scroll wheel provides precise navigation and trimming of clips. When you hold down the trim buttons, it transforms into a trim controller, allowing you to select the mode with your left hand and perform precise trimming directly on the timeline with your right.
A separate set of buttons focuses solely on editing functions. It lets you quickly add or remove transitions, split clips, use Ripple Delete, and control camera selection in the sync bin. The buttons are easy to locate by touch, and some offer a secondary function when held down or double-pressed.
Built-in Bluetooth and an internal battery allow you to work wirelessly alongside a standard computer keyboard; the device connects, charges, and is configured or updated via USB-C.
