DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G – Quad SDI is a mezzanine card that lets you connect older Ultra HD and 4K equipment using quad link 3G-SDI to the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G card. It replaces the HDMI mezzanine card that comes standard with DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G. You can easily swap the card yourself and, once installed, capture or play back video over quad link 3G-SDI straight away. In addition to quad link 3G-SDI it adds a built in hardware down converter for outputting 1080p60 from 12G-SDI 2160p60 sources.

With this mezzanine card, DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G has both fast 12G-SDI connectors for new equipment and four 3G-SDI connectors for devices that carry Ultra HD and 4K over four cables.

Replaces the HDMI mezzanine card
The card fits in place of the HDMI mezzanine card that DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G includes as standard (pictured). You can swap it yourself; the card works only with the DeckLink 4K Extreme 12G card and requires Desktop Video 10.4.1 or later, which also adds Deep Color support.
Four 3G-SDI connectors
The four BNC connectors for 3G-SDI form two inputs and two outputs which, together with the four 12G-SDI connectors of the main card, enable quad link 3G-SDI. Alternatively, the card can take in a 12G-SDI signal and send it out as quad link 3G-SDI.
Ultra HD to HD conversion
The built in hardware converter turns a 2160p60 signal from the 12G-SDI inputs into a 1080p60 output that HD equipment accepts. With DaVinci Resolve the card handles 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 up to 2160p30 and keying in 1080p60.
