Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor is a standalone 5″ HDR touchscreen monitor with full camera control for Blackmagic PYXIS and URSA Cine cameras. A single USB-C cable carries video, power and control, and 1500 nits of brightness with a removable sunshade keep it readable even in sunlight. This package contains the monitor and the sunshade; mounts and a USB-C cable are sold separately.
Standalone 5″ HDR monitor for PYXIS and URSA Cine
A touchscreen monitor with camera control that you mount wherever the rig blocks the built in screen.
Full camera control over one cable
The monitor provides the same controls and overlays as the built in screen of PYXIS and carries video, power and control over a single USB-C cable.
Assist station
The monitor also works off camera – an assistant can watch framing and focus from any position on set, for example when the camera is on a gimbal.
For one person crews
The rear tally shows that the camera is recording, so you can stand in front of the camera and operate it at the same time.
Touchscreen camera control
Tap the screen to set frame rate, shutter, iris, ISO, white balance, tint, timecode, media, audio, focus zoom, digital slate and camera menus, and to start recording. Three assignable F1–F3 buttons recall presets or toggle zebra, focus assist, false color, grid or LUT.
When the rig covers the built in screen
Cages, rods and other accessories can block the built in 4″ screen of PYXIS. The 5″ monitor can then be mounted wherever you need it – on the camera, on the rig or off camera on a gimbal – with full control. The accelerometer rotates the image when the monitor is mounted upside down.
1500 nits and a sunshade
The HDR monitor with 1500 nits of brightness stays readable even in direct sunlight. The clip on sunshade has fold out sides and folds up to protect the monitor in transport.
What to add to the monitor
The basic package contains the monitor and the sunshade. Connecting it to the camera requires a USB-C cable – the original Camera PYXIS Monitor – Cable USB Set has locking screws. Mounts are included in the Monitor Kit and the Monitor EVF Kit.
