Blackmagic Design Smart Videohub CleanSwitch 12x12 is a compact 1U router with 12 6G‑SDI inputs and 12 outputs. Re-synchronization on every input enables clean switching between sources of the same standard and lets the unit operate as twelve independent SDI re-synchronizers.
Clean 12×12 switching without visible glitches
Every one of the twelve 6G‑SDI inputs includes re-synchronization. Sources using the same video standard can be switched cleanly, while SD, HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p30 can coexist on the router.
Re-synchronization on every input
Unsynchronized cameras, decks and computer sources can be automatically timed. The unit can also work as twelve independent re-synchronizers and provides SDI reclocking on every output.
Local and network control
The front panel combines direct buttons, a spin knob and a 2.2-inch colour LCD preview. Larger installations can use Ethernet, RS‑422 and Videohub Control software for macOS and Windows.
Confidence with mixed, unsynchronized sources
Smart Videohub CleanSwitch 12x12 was created for control rooms where sources do not share a common reference. Every input is automatically re-synchronized, so professional broadcast equipment, cameras, decks and computer outputs can be combined and switched without picture shifts or flashes when the video standard matches.
This is especially valuable in outside broadcast vehicles, live production, concerts and conferences where technicians often receive unfamiliar sources. Its 6G‑SDI design routes SD, HD and Ultra HD on the same router, while all twelve inputs can also be used independently for automatic SDI timing.
The front panel combines direct buttons, a spin knob and an LCD showing video previews and routing labels. Ethernet, RS‑422, a reference input and free Blackmagic Videohub Control software extend the built-in controls. Routes are restored after a power interruption.
