This plug-in interface card adds four optical fiber SDI inputs, four outputs and four deck control connections to a Universal Videohub frame. It carries SD, HD and 3 Gb/s SDI over optical fiber without external converters. Its 1310 nm laser drivers and receivers reach up to 25 km at 3 Gb/s, and the card fits both Universal Videohub 72 and 288 frames.
Optical fiber SDI right in the router
The card adds four optical fiber SDI inputs and four optical fiber SDI outputs with four deck control connections to a Universal Videohub frame.
No external converters
The router routes directly from fiber to SDI and vice versa – connect remote equipment by fiber with no converter at the router.
Reclocking
The card outputs feature SDI reclocking.
Mix with BNC
Optical fiber and BNC cards can be mixed freely in one frame.
Deck control
Port for a breakout cable with four RS-422 connectors.
Hot swap
Swap the card without powering down the router.
The same card for 72 and 288 frames
The optical fiber card installs into any interface card slot and can be combined with BNC SDI cards in the same frame. Each card adds four inputs and four outputs to the router, and interface cards can be hot swapped.
Audio and deck control
The card carries 16 channels of embedded SDI audio along with the video. With the Universal Videohub Deck Control Cable it adds four independent RS-422 ports for remote control of decks.
Card front panel
Each side has two optical fiber SDI connectors (in and out), with the breakout cable connector for four RS-422 deck control ports in the middle.
