Blackmagic Videohub Mini 4x2 12G is a professional zero latency video router with 4 12G-SDI inputs and 2 12G-SDI outputs. It handles any combination of SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD signals up to 2160p60 at the same time, with automatic standard detection, SDI reclocking and remote control via Ethernet. It takes up just 1/3 of the rack width and its front panel has an emergency 12G-SDI input plus a USB-C webcam output.

Ready for anything, right in the rack

The front 12G-SDI connections handle an unexpected source without reaching behind the rack: the front input overrides the highest rear input as soon as video is connected.

Clean switch on every output

Clean switch is set for each output separately: a monitor or encoder switches smoothly, while a HyperDeck recorder gets a direct feed with no inserted frames.

Control from anywhere

Besides the front panel buttons, you can control the router via Ethernet from the Videohub Smart Control Pro and Videohub Master Control Pro panels or from the Videohub Software Control app.

AC and 12 V DC power

The built in 100–240 V AC power supply is complemented by a 12 V DC input that serves as a backup in case of a power outage.

More sources without re-patching cables

Videohub Mini routers are designed for adding inputs to all types of SDI equipment, and they are small enough to fit mobile racks. Add inputs to an ATEM switcher, source selection to a streaming encoder or HyperDeck recorder, or extra inputs to a monitor. Route changes happen instantly, without touching the cabling during a production.

Front panel for fast changes

The front panel is designed for fast cut-bus style switching: select the output button, then press the source button. Videohub Mini 4x2 12G has 6 buttons on the front – 4 for inputs and 2 for outputs. That means the router needs no setup before you first use it.

Emergency connections on the front

When you urgently need to plug in extra gear, you don't have to reach behind the rack or risk unplugging something crucial. The front 12G-SDI input overrides rear input 4 as soon as video is connected. The highest numbers are usually the least used connections on a router.

USB-C webcam output

The front USB-C connection appears on a computer as a webcam in 1080 HD, so you can send live SDI video into Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype and into streaming software such as Open Broadcaster or XSplit Broadcaster. An Ultra HD source is down converted to HD for the webcam.

A loop output for every input

Every rear 12G-SDI input (4 in total) has its own loop output, so you can pass the signal on to another device without adding a distribution amplifier.

Clean switch for each output

Clean switch ensures stable transitions between sources and, unlike common routers, it is set on each output, not on the inputs. That matters because re-sync can add or drop a frame – so a HyperDeck recorder can stay on a direct feed while a monitor or encoder switches smoothly. Sources lock to input 1.

Advanced 12G-SDI for SD, HD and Ultra HD

All connections are multi rate 12G-SDI, so the router works with all SD, HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60 and connects to SD, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI equipment. Different standards can run at the same time and the SDI output standard changes automatically when you switch.

SDI reclocking

Reclocking regenerates the SDI signal and prevents data errors. Longer cables degrade the signal and even expensive "digital" cables cannot fully eliminate the loss – with reclocking, connected equipment receives a regenerated signal with lower jitter, so you can use longer cables without video dropouts.

External hardware panels

All Videohub routers can be controlled remotely, which matters in large studios where equipment is spread around the building. Videohub Master Control Pro has a spin knob, an LCD and shortcut buttons; Videohub Smart Control Pro has buttons only and usually controls one output – it works best installed below each monitor.

Control from Mac, Windows and iPad

The free Videohub Software Control app runs on Mac and Windows, so you control the router from the computers you already have in the studio. Its large buttons can be assigned to inputs or outputs and given icons; on a touchscreen computer the app becomes a large screen XY control panel. There is also a version for Apple iPad.

Videohub Setup and SDK

The free Videohub Setup app for Mac and Windows (via Ethernet or USB) gives access to advanced features: Unicode labels for inputs and outputs, network settings, software updates and external panel configuration. The Videohub SDK and a simple text based protocol make it easy to integrate with broadcast automation, even from a Raspberry Pi or Arduino.

Flexible and redundant power

The built in power supply connects with a standard IEC cable and adapts automatically to 100 to 240 V AC, so you can use the router anywhere in the world. A 12 V DC input with reverse polarity protection provides redundancy for critical work, when the router has to keep running even through a power supply fault or an outage.

On the front you'll find the emergency 12G-SDI input, USB-C and the input and output selection buttons; on the rear SD/3G/12G-SDI inputs with loop outputs, SDI outputs, Ethernet, the AC power input and a +12 V DC power input.
