Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 820 is designed for advanced broadcast systems. It delivers high performance with low latency, and all connections are on the rear, keeping cables neat, hidden and secure. Eight 100G QSFP28 ports, two 10G ports, redundant PTP clock ports, a dedicated NMOS port and two AC power supplies make it the backbone of SMPTE 2110 systems.

Blackmagic Ethernet Switch 820 has all network connections on the rear, professional front-to-back cooling with six fans for redundancy and two redundant AC power supplies. The quiet design is important wherever you work close to equipment – in OB vans and small racks.
8 100G Ethernet ports
Eight separate 100G connections in QSFP28 sockets connect the data ports of HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G and Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra, or build an SMPTE 2110 network with ATEM Constellation IP switchers and other equipment.
2 10G Ethernet ports
Two separate 10G ports make it easy to connect computers, as 10G is lower cost and more common than 100G. You can also connect HyperDeck Extreme 8K, which records four video channels at once over a single 10G connection.
Dedicated NMOS port
NMOS control traffic has its own Ethernet connection, so it never competes for bandwidth with video and audio and switching on the SMPTE 2110 network stays fast. NMOS discovers, registers and manages IP video devices in a standard way: new SMPTE 2110 equipment is available for routing without manual setup.
Redundant PTP clock
Two redundant PTP clock ports maintain precise timing across all equipment connected to the switch. If one clock source fails, the other seamlessly takes over sync; you can also connect two separate grandmaster clocks, so the network stays in sync during equipment failures, cable faults or maintenance.
Management port
The separate 1G management port is used by the Blackmagic Ethernet Switch utility software for status monitoring, configuration and firmware updates. It is isolated from the control, video and audio networks, so it does not interfere with operations.
Simple routing from the front
The 2.2″ color display, three buttons and spin knob are used to select sources and destinations and for menu settings. Scroll the IP video sources with the knob and confirm the route; the switch sets up the multicast in the background. The 2110 IP monitor output shows the custom switch name, link speed and a live transfer graph for each port.

The front panel has USB-C, the LCD display, a spin knob, the source or destination button and menu buttons.
The rear panel has dual AC power inputs, a 1G management port, 2110 PTP clock ports, a 1G NMOS control port, two 10G Ethernet ports and eight 100G Ethernet ports.
