The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K L-Mount is a digital film camera with a 12,288 × 8,040 full-frame RGBW sensor, an optical low-pass filter, a dynamic range of 16 EV, and a permanently integrated active L-Mount. It records Blackmagic RAW and H.264 proxy files to a pair of CFexpress cards or an external USB-C storage device, and offers 10G Ethernet and 12G-SDI monitoring.

PYXIS 12K with fixed active L-Mount
This exact model combines a 12,288 × 8,040 RGBW full-frame sensor with an optical low-pass filter, 16 stops of dynamic range, dual CFexpress slots and a fixed active L-Mount. It is made to build into the exact rig required by a production.
A body ready for a custom rig
The machined aluminium body and side plates provide mounting points for microphones, brackets, SSDs and more. Its built-in 4-inch Full HD HDR touchscreen reaches 1,500 nits, while the optional PYXIS Monitor adds a larger touch display and full camera control.
12K, 9K, 8K and 4K in one workflow
The multiscale sensor works in 12K, 8K and 4K. Maximum frame rates are 40 fps in 12K open-gate 3:2, 60 fps in 12K 2.4:1 and 112 fps in 8K/4K 2.4:1. It records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW and H.264 proxy files to dual CFexpress or external USB-C media, while 10G Ethernet supports Blackmagic Cloud.
Cinema image and connected workflow
PYXIS 12K uses a 36 × 24 mm RGBW sensor with a native 12,288 × 8,040 resolution. Open-gate 3:2 helps reframing in post, while 6:5 supports anamorphic lenses. Its 16 stops of dynamic range preserve highlight and shadow detail; native ISO is 800.
L-Mount, distinct from EF and PL
This variant has a fixed active L-Mount, not locking EF or PL. Supported L-Mount lenses can provide lens data and enable iris and focus control. It works with current Leica, Panasonic and Sigma full-frame lenses and suitable adapters.
Recording, cloud and connectivity
Two CFexpress slots support fast Blackmagic RAW recording and USB-C accepts external media. Simultaneous H.264 proxies speed Blackmagic Cloud transfer. The camera includes 12G-SDI monitoring, mini XLR with 48V phantom power, 10G Ethernet and internal RTMP/SRT streaming.
Power and accessories
The camera uses BP-U batteries. Suitable optional accessories include PYXIS Monitor, PYXIS Pro Grip, PYXIS Pro Handle, a cage for PYXIS 6K/12K and CFexpress Type B media.
