The DZOFILM Octopus Adapter II PL → L-Mount is the second generation of the mechanical adapter for mounting PL cine lenses on L-Mount cameras. The aluminium-alloy body with a stainless-steel mount weighs only about 181g – less than half of the first generation. The flange distance is factory-calibrated to a 0.01mm tolerance, so lenses reach infinity focus without further adjustment.

Less than half the weight

The PL → L-Mount adapter weighs about 181g, or 196g with the support foot. The first-generation Octopus weighed 390–403g, so the new aluminium-alloy design cuts up to 57% of the weight. You feel it on a gimbal, handheld or on a shoulder rig – the build balances better and is less tiring.

Native-mount precision

The adapter is machined to a 0.01mm tolerance and the SUS 304 stainless-steel mount is tested for over 100,000 mounting cycles. The flange distance is calibrated at the factory, so the lens sits as firmly as on a native mount and reaches infinity without shimming.

Faster lens changes

The redesigned locking lever is easier to grip, so mounting and removing a lens is quicker. The anti-binding lock does not jam even with frequent changes, and the unlock direction is clearly marked on the body.

Detachable 1/4″-20 support foot

The 1/4″-20 foot can be screwed to a rig or baseplate so the camera mount does not carry the whole weight of a heavier cine lens. Take it off when you don't need it.

Room for more cine lenses

There is more internal clearance than in the first generation, so lenses with protruding rear elements or special designs fit too. The adapter is purely mechanical with no optics – it causes no crop or vignetting by itself and suits both Super 35 and full-frame L-Mount cameras.
