The SEETEC ATEM156-CO is a 15.6" Full HD director monitor built into an aluminium case — it travels in the same shell it works in, and the front and rear covers come off without tools. Four 4K HDMI inputs and four 4K HDMI outputs mean up to four cameras on one screen and a signal that carries on to a switcher such as the ATEM Mini. The IPS panel holds the Rec.709 colour standard and is calibrated at the factory; quad view, dual view, peaking filter, false colors, check field and pixel-to-pixel are all there. It runs from a 12V DC input or a V-mount battery — the V-mount battery plate is included.

Four 4K HDMI inputs and outputs

The SEETEC ATEM156-CO is a Full HD director monitor built into an aluminium case — it travels in the same shell it works in. It has four 4K HDMI inputs and four 4K HDMI outputs, so you watch up to four cameras on one screen while the signal carries on to a switcher such as the ATEM Mini.

The 15.6" IPS panel with 1920 × 1080 resolution holds the Rec.709 colour standard and is calibrated at the factory with a professional instrument. Switch the screen to full screen, dual view or quad view, and you get a set of assist tools — peaking filter, false colors, check field, pixel-to-pixel and more.

The front and rear covers come off without tools: the front for the picture, the rear for the connectors. Inside sit a V-mount battery plate and a 12V DC power input, so the monitor runs from the mains or from a battery. It is operated from the front panel buttons — switching the source is a single press.

15.6" Full HD panel

The IPS panel with 1920 × 1080 resolution and 8-bit colour depth (16.7 million colours) delivers a natural image. An 800:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m² brightness and a 170° viewing angle both horizontally and vertically mean the whole crew can see the monitor, not just whoever stands in front of it.

Accurate colour reproduction

Rec.709 standard

The monitor works in a colour space consistent with the ITU standards and the Rec.709 HD video standard. Every unit is calibrated at the factory with a professional instrument, so colours come out the same on every monitor and you can judge the quality of the incoming signal reliably.

Aluminium case

Disassembles without tools

The monitor is built into an aluminium case with a handle, corner protectors and butterfly locks. The front cover comes off for the picture, the rear one for the connectors and the battery — both without tools and without any assembly.

When locations change often on set, time and cost add up. Nothing gets built here: you open the case and work.

What is in the case

Besides the monitor in its aluminium case, the box holds a mini/micro HDMI to HDMI cable, a V-mount battery plate, a 3A power adapter and the operation manual. The full list is in the packing list further down the page.

Four 4K HDMI inputs and outputs

Up to four cameras on one screen

Connect cameras, game consoles or computers to the four HDMI inputs. Each input has its own loop-through output, so the signal carries on — to a switcher, to a recorder or to another monitor.

Inputs and outputs handle 4K: 4096 × 2160p at 24 Hz and 3840 × 2160p at 30 / 29.97 / 25 / 24 / 23.98 Hz. The full list of supported HDMI formats is in the specification.

Multiview for the ATEM Mini

When the switcher has no multiview

Switchers such as the ATEM Mini have no multiview of their own. The ATEM156-CO fills that gap: the cameras go into the monitor first, the director sees all four cameras at once and only then puts the chosen shot to air. No more blind cutting.

Display modes and tools

Quad view, dual view, full screen

Switch the screen to full screen, dual view (side by side, one above the other or picture in picture) or quad view. It switches on the fly, from a shortcut key.

A set of assist tools comes with it: peaking filter, false colors, check field (red, green, blue and mono), image freeze, zoom-in, pixel-to-pixel, display rotate, center marker, screen marker, anamorphic mode and color temperature.

Button operation

The four HDMI-1 to HDMI-4 buttons switch the source directly, without going through the menu. The F1 to F4 keys are yours to assign — to peaking filter, false colors or quad view, for instance. MENU, the arrows and EXIT handle the rest.

Power your way

From the mains or from a battery

At the back sit a 12V DC power input and a V-mount battery plate. In the studio or the edit suite the monitor runs from the mains on the supplied adapter, in the field from a V-mount battery. The input voltage range is 12 to 24 V and consumption stays under 12 W.

Out in the field

The case protects the monitor and the monitor keeps working inside it — on set, in the studio and outdoors. Audio is de-embedded from the HDMI signal to the 3.5mm headphone output on the front panel, so you need no separate device to check it.

Ideal for live broadcasting

The portable build and the multiview feature turn multi-camera broadcasting into a job a small crew can handle. The monitor is used in the studio, on shoots and at live events.
