The Feelworld TP2A is a lightweight 8" teleprompter for DSLRs, mirrorless bodies and phones. The script runs on your own phone or tablet up to eight inches, in landscape or portrait, driven from the app or from the bundled Bluetooth remote. A magnetic smartphone clamp for recording, eight adapter rings from 49 to 77 mm and a drawstring bag are in the box; the ABS body weighs just 300 grams.

Read the script straight down the lens axis

The TP2A sets a beam splitter at an angle in front of the lens: the camera sees through it, the speaker sees the reflected script in it. So you look into the lens while you read, and the viewer never notices a script is running. The text runs on your own phone or tablet — the unit has no display of its own.

It suits vlogs, live broadcasts, online classes, video recording, interviews and presentations. The body is ABS and weighs 300 grams, so the whole rig fits in a backpack and sets up in a couple of minutes.

On and off in a single movement

The phone and tablet clamp goes onto the teleprompter with the side that matches your device. Push the PUSH lock left to lock it, right to release it — no tools needed. It takes a phone or a tablet up to eight inches.

The script can be read in landscape or portrait, and you can record with a DSLR or with a phone. That makes four combinations: prompting from a phone or a tablet, recording with a DSLR or with a phone.

Magnetic smartphone clamp

Take the phone off and put it back at any time

When you record with a phone, a magnetic clamp holds it on the teleprompter. The phone sits in it in landscape or portrait and can be lifted off at any moment to check the shot and put back, without loosening anything. This is what separates the TP2A from the plain TP2.

The clamp for the prompting phone or tablet is a separate part and both are in the box — one carries the device with the script, the other the recording phone.

Eight lens adapter rings

A wide-angle lens without vignetting

The lens screws to the teleprompter through an adapter ring matching its filter thread. Eight rings are in the box: 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72 and 77 mm.

Take the UV filter off the lens before fitting a ring. Otherwise the ring can bind onto the filter and the two cannot be separated — the manufacturer warns about this explicitly.

The TP2A is built for a wide-angle lens so that the teleprompter frame stays out of shot. Shooting in landscape needs 28 mm or longer when prompting from a phone and 35 mm or longer from a tablet; in portrait it is 40 mm and 50 mm respectively.

Small, light and quick to hand

Size 205 × 97 × 171 mm, weight 300 g

The body is ABS, weighs 300 grams and measures 205 × 97 × 171 millimetres. It packs into the supplied drawstring bag, which also takes the accessories.

There are three 1/4" threads on the underside, so the teleprompter bolts to a tripod, a ball head or a light stand. Neither tripod nor head is included.

A microfibre cloth is in the box as well. The beam splitter is an optical part — fingerprints and dust show up more in a reflection than on a display, so wipe it regularly.

App and Bluetooth remote

FEELWORLD Teleprompter for Android and iOS

The script is typed or pasted into the FEELWORLD Teleprompter app, free for Android and iOS. It sets type size, text and background colour, margins, scroll speed, mirroring and loop playback. iOS users find it in the App Store under FEELWORLD; on Android it is downloaded by scanning the QR code or from the Download section of the product page at the manufacturer.

The bundled Bluetooth remote starts and stops the scroll, speeds it up and slows it down, enlarges and reduces the type, switches between portrait and landscape, turns on mirroring and loop play and cycles the text and background colour. A long press switches the remote on and off.

The remote does not connect like an ordinary Bluetooth keyboard — the app handles pairing itself, so it should not be paired by hand in the phone settings. What individual buttons do can differ with the phone brand and the version of the system.
