K&F Concept linear polarising film in a 300 × 200 mm format, four sheets per pack. Made from Nitto film, it polarises with 99.99 % efficiency and suits LCD screen repairs as well as experiments with light.

A readable display again

The film only lets through light vibrating in one direction. On an LCD screen it therefore replaces a worn or scratched original polarising layer — without it the screen lights up but no image can be seen. It serves the same way on motorcycle dashboards, watches and small electronic displays, 3D glasses or projectors.

Both sides of the film are protected by a cover layer: the red tab marks the adhesive side, the blue one the outer side. The screen is first wiped with the dry and wet wipe, the film is turned on the switched-on screen to the position with the clearest picture, trimmed and, once the red-tab layer is peeled off, stuck down. The supplied squeegee pushes out bubbles, and finally the blue-tab layer comes off.

Thanks to the large format, several smaller pieces can be cut from one sheet, and the film also serves in teaching and in experiments with polarised light — crossed polarisers, birefringence or reflection, for instance.
