Nano-B — star filter 62 mm, turns point lights into rays. It shines on night cities, festive lights, candles or sun glints on water, turning every single point of light into a striking, sparkling effect right in the frame.

Stars from points of light

A star filter has a fine grid etched into the glass that turns every point light into a star with rays. It comes into its own in the night-time city, on Christmas lights, candles or reflections on water. The number and angle of the rays are set by turning the front ring.

The rays growing out of point lights are not white — they run in colour like a spread-out spectrum, so a night street, a string of lights on a bridge or candles on a table pick up a coloured trail the lens alone will not produce. The frame turns, and with it the direction of the rays. The effect grows the smaller and harder the lights in the scene are; diffuse light from a window will not break into rays.
