A K&F Concept X-PRO square filter kit for landscape photography: a metal 100mm holder with a CPL polarising filter, an ND1000 neutral density filter for long exposures, a Soft GND8 graduated filter and 67, 72, 77 and 82mm adapter rings. The holder takes two square filters, its 91mm aperture avoids vignetting even at 14mm, and a velvet seal keeps out side light.

Three filters for landscapes

The ND1000 neutral density filter cuts 10 stops and lengthens the exposure enough for water in a waterfall or on a lake to blend into a smooth veil. The Soft GND8 graduated filter with a soft transition darkens a bright sky and balances it with a darker foreground. The CPL polarising filter suppresses reflections on water and glass and increases colour saturation and contrast.

Holder for two filters and CPL

The metal holder has two slots, so ND1000 and Soft GND8 can be stacked at once. The CPL polarising filter is inserted into the rear of the holder and secured with a push rod that releases and locks it in one movement; it rotates directly in the holder. A thick velvet strip seals between filter and holder against side light, and the 91mm aperture avoids vignetting even with a 14mm wide-angle lens.

Mounting

Choose the adapter ring matching the filter thread of your lens (the size is printed next to the “0” mark) and screw it onto the lens. Attach the holder to the ring, tighten the locking knob, pull out the push rod, insert the CPL filter and push the rod back in.

Glass and coating

The filters are made of Japanese AGC optical glass with 36 layers of nano coating that repels water and grease and resists scratches.

Pouch

The water-resistant PU pouch holds three filters and the holder; its rear straps let you hang it on a tripod.

Expanding the system

The holder is compatible with K&F Concept X-PRO square filters, so the kit can be extended with more ND and graduated filters. The system won the iF Design Award 2021 and Red Dot 2021.
