The Tilta Khronos Black Mist 1/4 diffusion filter for iPhone lowers contrast and blooms a gentle glow around highlights, while holding contrast in the shadows and keeping overall softness in check. The result is a classic film look that never takes over the scene — edges stay crisp and dark areas keep their detail. The 1/4 marking states the diffusion strength. The glass drops magnetically into the Khronos filter tray on the Khronos case.

Black Mist or White Mist? Both filters lower contrast and bloom a gentle glow around light sources, but they differ in the character of the scatter. Black Mist holds contrast in the shadows and keeps overall softness in check — a discreet, classic film look. White Mist scatters more, the image is softer and more atmospheric, and the diffusion is visible at first glance. The number states the strength: 1/2 is stronger than 1/4.

The filter is a single piece of glass covering all three iPhone lenses. It aligns to the guide slot in the Khronos filter tray and a magnet holds it, so a swap takes a second — even mid-take. The tray clicks onto the quick-release points of the Khronos case, locks with an anti-rotation clip and swivels through 180°.

You need the Khronos case for iPhone and the Khronos Quick Release Filter Tray to use it. Neither is included with the filter, and without them the filter will not stay on the phone. Tilta lists the filters for iPhone 15 and 16 Pro / Pro Max. One filter goes into the tray at a time — the manufacturer does not describe stacking several filters.
