The Libec GS-850PDS is a complete GS series pedestal system for shoulder cameras up to 25 kg in its studio version. The GH85 head offers continuous Perfect Balance counterbalance across 9–20 kg with a counterbalance meter. The pneumatic column with a 75 cm stroke is set with the supplied pump to match the camera weight. The system height is 98.5–174 cm.

The GS-850PDS system puts a shoulder camera of up to 25 kg on a mobile pneumatic pedestal for the studio. It combines the GH85 head with continuous Perfect Balance counterbalance and a counterbalance meter, the compact pneumatic P110S pedestal on the DL-10RB dolly and a pair of PH-8B pan handles, plus a long sliding plate. The system weighs 22.2 kg and adjusts from 98.5 to 174 cm.

Height on a cushion of air

The upper column is supported by air pressure, set with the supplied pump to match the weight of camera and accessories. A double bearing system prevents wobbling even during quick vertical moves.

Balanced at any angle

The GH85 head with continuous Perfect Balance counterbalance keeps the camera balanced at any tilt angle across 9–20 kg (C.G. 125 mm). Two PH-8B pan handles give a secure grip for smooth control.

Straight-line tracking

The tracking lock fixes the caster direction, so the pedestal moves in a straight line. Cable guards on the 125 mm double-wheel casters stop the wheels running over cables in the studio.

Smooth in freezing cold and heat

The layered metal drag unit with special silicone grease gives smoother starts and stops and better backlash control. It keeps the same feel from −40 to +60 °C.

Drag 0 + 7 steps

Seven drag steps plus a friction-free zero position, with no need to store the head in it.

Aluminum levers

All locking levers on the head are aluminum instead of plastic, built for demanding professional use.

One-touch plate

The camera plate attaches with a single touch and slides ±55 mm.

30 kg pedestal payload

The P110S pedestal carries 30 kg including the head, and its two-stage column has a 75 cm stroke.

Counterbalance meter. A scale by the counterbalance knob shows the spring strength, so your preferred setting is easy to remember and restore.

Sliding plate lock. The redesigned sliding plate lock is more intuitive to use, so the camera goes on faster and fore-and-aft balance is fine-tuned right on location.

Illuminated bubble level. An LED-lit bubble level makes levelling easy even in a dark studio or at night.

Accessory threads. 1/4" and 3/8" threads on the side of the head base take an articulating arm for a monitor, light or other accessory. Because they sit on the base, they do not affect the payload, center of gravity or balance of the head.

GH85 counterbalance chart. The vertical axis shows the height of the camera’s center of gravity above the plate, the horizontal axis the total weight of camera and accessories. The area between the curves is the range the head can balance; a shoulder camera typically sits around 125 mm. At maximum spring strength the tilt is limited to ±40°.
