The Portkeys LH5P III is a compact 5.7-inch on-camera touchscreen monitor with up to 2,200 nits of brightness, 10-bit hardware processing and wired or wireless control of supported cameras. It accepts video up to DCI 4K60 over HDMI and packs a full suite of professional monitoring tools for exposure, focus and colour on set.

Camera control right from the monitor

Powered by Portkeys MOVNORM OS, the monitor offers wireless and wired control of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, focus and more for most Sony (including FX3, FX30, FX6, FX5, A1, A7S III, A7R IV, A7R V, A7 IV, A7 V), Canon (EOS C50, C400, C80, R5 II, R6, R6 II, R6 III, R50 V), Panasonic (S1, S1 II, S1R, S5 II, BGH1, BS1H), Nikon (ZR, Z8, Z9) and Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K models. On select Sony cameras (such as the FX3 and A7S III) it also supports touch focus and touch focus tracking.

For wired control the box includes a 30cm two-in-one video and control cable with HDMI and USB-C connectors on the camera side and a single HDMI connector on the monitor side. The LH5P III also acts as the active controller for up to four additional passive Portkeys monitors (LS7P, BM7 II DS, LH7P, BM5IV WR, LH5P III) within 50m, each of which then controls its own camera wirelessly over Wi-Fi or via a wired connection up to 7m.

Daylight-viewable display

The 5.7-inch panel has a 2160×1080 resolution and a 1400:1 contrast ratio, with brightness reaching up to 2,200 nits for easy viewing in direct sunlight. 10-bit hardware processing covers 104% of the P3 colour space (94.9% P3-D65, 97.7% Rec.709), and every unit is factory colour-calibrated with Calman tools to a DeltaE ≤ 1.1 in Rec.709 and DeltaE ≤ 2.5 in DCI-P3. Viewing angle is 85° in every direction.

Exposure, focus and framing tools

The monitor includes RGB and Luma waveform, a histogram, zebra, 13 customizable False Color presets including ARRI False Color, the exclusive LogStops exposure tool based on real camera stop data from RED, ARRI, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, FUJIFILM, Blackmagic Design and Nikon, focus peaking with gesture zoom, image overlay and freeze frame, plus crosshair, check field, guides, grids and rectangle crop. It supports up to 20 custom 3D LUTs loaded via USB-A, which can also be applied to the HDMI output. Anamorphic de-squeeze offers 10 standard ratios (1.33x to 2.0x) plus a custom ratio from 0.25x to 4.0x.

Connectivity and power

The monitor has 1x HDMI input and 1x HDMI output for signals up to DCI 4K60, a USB-A port for LUTs, freeze-frame images and firmware updates, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The built-in plate takes Sony NP-F / L-Series batteries (e.g. NP-F550), and at a draw of only 13W a small battery lasts over two hours. A USB-C 3.0 PD input extends runtime from a power bank, V-Mount or Gold Mount battery. Two 1/4"-20 mounting points — on the bottom with anti-twist grooves and anti-slip pads, and on the side — make it easy to mount on a cage, arm or gimbal.

Lightweight aluminum build

The aluminum alloy and tempered glass body weighs only 235g and is just 28.4mm thick, 18% lighter than the previous LH5P II. Four assignable function buttons, power and screen-lock switches, and a menu button with a navigation wheel sit along the top edge. A built-in silent fan is also included.
