A Tilta remote control kit for DJI Ronin gimbals. The handle with its thumbstick drives the gimbal’s pan and tilt, starts recording and stills and switches the mode — wirelessly up to 80 metres through the receiver module, or over the 500 cm 6-pin Lemo cable. The included power supply base plate feeds the gimbal from a Gold Mount or V-Mount battery over P-Tap.

The Tilta Remote Control Kit for DJI Ronin (TGA-RCK) lets you drive a DJI Ronin gimbal from a distance — from inside a car, from the dolly, from a crane or from the end of a Russian arm. It holds a handle with a thumbstick, a wireless receiver module, a power supply base plate and the cabling, so you never have to reach the gimbal while the shot is running.

What the handle puts under your fingers

The thumbstick drives the gimbal’s pan and tilt, the camera control button starts and stops recording and triggers stills, the M key switches the mode and the side wheel is there for fine trimming. The Lemo port at the bottom takes the wired link and the trigger sits under your index finger. The handle runs on a Sony F570/550 battery, which is not included.

Wireless up to 80 metres

The receiver module clips onto the NATO rail on the right side of the gimbal and pairs with a double click on the module button — the indicator blinks red, then green once pairing is complete. Wireless range is up to 80 metres, so you drive the gimbal from inside the car while the camera hangs outside on the mount.

Wired where wireless is not enough

The included 6-pin Lemo to 6-pin Lemo cable is 500 cm long and links handle to gimbal for good. Wired control responds more reliably in awkward conditions — in a tunnel, between buildings or on a long rig such as a Russian arm or a cable cam. You simply run the cable along the rig to wherever the operator sits.

The power supply base plate keeps the gimbal running

The TGA-PBP base plate feeds the gimbal from a Gold Mount or V-Mount battery through the included P-Tap to 2-pin Lemo cable, so a long shoot never waits for the gimbal’s own battery. The 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads underneath mount the plate to most rigs, the Hydra Alien system included. The supplied holding bracket also secures the camera during fast driving and on rough tarmac.

Hydra Alien monitor bracket (optional)

The rosette at the base of the handle bolts it to any rosette connection — the optional Hydra Alien monitor bracket among them. The screen then sits right next to the controller instead of you framing blind. The left NATO rail on the monitor bracket carries a focus handle or the Nucleus Nano hand wheel.

Compatibility and limits

The verified compatibility of the remote control handle is the DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro. Tilta’s current product page also names the RS 4 Pro and RS 5 — check the function before you rely on it with those. On the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro the M key cannot mimic the gimbal function; it only changes the mode setting.

The remote control handle needs a Sony F570/550 battery to run, which is not included.
