The Saramonic K9 XTX is a digital UHF plug-on transmitter that turns a standard microphone with a 3-pin XLR connector into a wireless one. It powers condenser microphones with 3 to 48 V phantom power, also works with dynamic microphones and line sources, records a 32-bit float backup to a microSD card and both reads and generates timecode. The signal is received by the K9 RX receiver.

Phantom power 3 to 48 V

The plug-on transmitter fits the standard 3-pin XLR connector of a handheld or shotgun microphone. Phantom power can be set to 3, 5, 12, 24 or 48 V, or switched off for dynamic microphones and line-level sources.

32-bit float recording

The K9 XTX records a backup as WAV, 24-bit or 32-bit float at 48 kHz, to a microSD card of up to 256 GB; a 64 GB card is included. The 130 dB input dynamic range preserves the natural sound and dynamics of professional microphones.

Timecode: read and generate

The K9 XTX both reads and generates timecode. It syncs wirelessly via the Saramonic System app or by cable with an external timecode source, so your editing software aligns audio and video automatically.

Control from your phone

The Saramonic System app controls up to 48 devices: gain, frequencies, mute, groups, sleep mode and firmware updates, without touching the transmitter on the boom.

Two AA batteries and USB-C

On two exchangeable AA batteries the K9 XTX runs for more than 7 hours, and the display shows battery status. When the shoot runs long, the transmitter can be powered and charged via USB-C.

UHF 550–960 MHz with GPS

The wide 550–960 MHz UHF band and GPS-based frequency updates adapt the transmitter to local regulations wherever you shoot. Range is up to 150 m and the link is more reliable than typical 2.4 GHz systems.

Colour display

A large colour display with clear menus shows the transmitter status and gives instant feedback during production.

From −30 to +60 °C

The K9 XTX works in frost and heat from −30 to +60 °C. With the waterproof case, sold separately, it reaches IP66 protection against sweat and moisture.

Compatibility and firmware

The K9 TX and K9 XTX transmitters send to the K9 RX receiver. For a reliable connection they need firmware K9 XTX V2.64 or later, K9 TX V2.65 or later and K9 RX V2.60 or later; updates are done in the Saramonic System app.

On the boom and in the field

Without long cables the crew moves quickly between locations and setup time drops. The K9 XTX suits documentaries, news gathering and fast field shoots with a shotgun microphone on a boom.

Handheld mic without a cable

A dynamic or condenser handheld microphone with an XLR connector becomes wireless with the K9 XTX. Digital transmission uses no analogue compander, so the natural sound of the microphone is preserved.

Locking XLR connector

The XLR connector locks onto the microphone and stays firm even when handling the boom. Colour rings tell several transmitters apart in one crew.
