The Sennheiser EW-D 835-S SET is a fully digital wireless system for a fixed installation or a rack: an EW-D EM half-rack receiver and an SKM-S handheld transmitter with a mute switch and the MMD 835 dynamic cardioid capsule — the sound of the e 835 stage standard. Digital transmission gives it a 134 dB dynamic range across 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, which in practice means you set the gain once and stop worrying: a whisper and a shout both arrive clean. The receiver tunes across 56 MHz of the R4-9 range and the Smart Assist app handles frequency setup from a phone instead of a front-panel menu. Outputs are XLR and jack, balanced or unbalanced, with two BNC antenna connectors for remote aerials. The transmitter runs up to 8 hours on AA batteries and the receiver shows their state on a four-segment indicator. The rack mounting kit, power supply, antennas, clamp and batteries are all included.

Complete for a rack, out of the box

The set includes the rack mounting kit, the power supply with the country adapter, both antennas, the MZQ 1 clamp and the batteries — so the receiver goes into the rack and the microphone onto a stand on the first day. Two BNC antenna connectors let you move the aerials to the front of the rack or out to the room when the installation needs it.

The Smart Assist app scans for a clear frequency and sets the system up over the phone, instead of through a front-panel menu. Outputs are XLR and jack, balanced or unbalanced, so the receiver connects to a professional desk and to a small mixer alike, and the four-segment indicator shows battery state from across the room.
