The Sennheiser MKH 416-P48U3 combines a pressure-gradient capsule with a short interference tube. The result is a compact microphone with precise dialogue pickup, excellent articulation, and the resilience required for professional location work.

Super-cardioid to lobar directivity

At low and mid frequencies the MKH 416 operates as a super-cardioid, transitioning toward a lobar pattern above 2 kHz. Sound in front remains clear and articulate while side noise is strongly attenuated.

RF condenser technology for demanding conditions

The radio-frequency capsule principle improves resistance to humidity and makes the MKH 416 dependable for exterior filming, documentaries, sports, and television production. Self-noise of 13 dB(A), 25 mV/Pa sensitivity, and a maximum SPL of 130 dB provide a wide working range.
