The SmallRig 6127 waist-level optical viewfinder offers a 28mm full-frame-equivalent field of view with 35mm and 50mm frame lines. Its magnetic cover doubles as a sun hood, and a spring-loaded foot holds it securely in the camera's shoe.
28mm optical viewfinder for waist-level viewing
The viewfinder slides into the camera's shoe and moves composition from eye level down to waist level. The top-down view is discreet and suits street and documentary photography as well as low-angle shots.

A precision 4-element optical design, paired with a Fresnel lens and multi-layer nano AR coating, delivers total light transmittance of up to 85%. Distortion is controlled within ±15%, giving a bright, clear view with no visible color fringing.
Full 28mm view with 35mm and 50mm frame lines
The viewfinder shows the full 28mm field together with built-in guide frames for 35mm and 50mm. At 28mm even a slight tilt becomes noticeable, so keep the camera level to reduce perspective distortion.
Universal shoe fit
A standard spring-loaded foot provides secure attachment and broad compatibility with cameras from Fujifilm, Leica, Nikon and other brands. The manufacturer also shows the viewfinder on cages for action cameras and on film cameras.

Notes for use
Close-range parallax: the minimum viewing distance is 0.5 m. Within 2.0 m the captured image appears slightly lower than the framed view, so compose slightly higher to compensate.
Viewing distance: more than 0.4 m is recommended. If you wear glasses, keep your eye as close as possible to the eyepiece to minimize edge vignetting.
Optical characteristics: the viewfinder shows approximately 12% barrel distortion, a normal physical characteristic of an ultra-wide optical design.
Care: the optical surfaces have a nano coating; do not wipe them dry or with rough cloths. Do not point the eyepiece at strong sunlight for long periods, as concentrated heat may damage the device.
