The SmallRig 6413 self-coiling power cable is made for long recording sessions and livestreams where a regular battery would run out. It draws power from a V-mount battery with a D-Tap output and feeds Canon cameras that take the LP-E6P battery. The one-metre flat cable in a braided nylon jacket has magnets inside: let go of it and it coils itself into a palm-sized loop, so it needs no cable tie and will not tangle in your bag. The dummy battery matches the dimensions of the original, so it neither jams nor rattles in the battery compartment and comes out easily. The upgraded decoding chip makes sure the device recognises the power source and shows no warning messages. Built-in overvoltage, overheat, overcharge and short-circuit protection keep operation safe, and the materials are flame-retardant. The connector is reinforced and rated by the manufacturer for more than 5000 insertion cycles, the cable for more than 2000 bend cycles.
