The SmallRig 5196 universal clamp keeps an external SSD 40–60 mm wide and 8–17 mm thick right on your camera rig. Mount it in a cold shoe, on two 1/4"-20 screws or on an iPhone via MagSafe; the cable clamp secures the connector.
SmallRig Universal Mounting Clamp for External SSD 5196 securely holds portable SSDs (40 -60mm wide x 8 - 17mm thick / 1.6 - 2.4in wide x 0.3-0.7in thick) on camera cages and L-shape mount plates featuring 1/4"-20 threaded holes and cold shoe mounts, as well as MagSafe-compatible iPhones.

Unlike traditional spring-loaded clamps, this mount features a controlled opening for safe and easy two-step installation. The adjustable cable clamp with one-touch locking ensures secure connections for various SSD ports. Installation Options
Cold Shoe Mount: Install the cold shoe foot and mount the clamp to the cold shoe mount on the top of the cage
1/4″-20 Screws: Use two 1/4"-20 screws to secure the clamp to the side of the cage
MagSafe: Attach the clamp directly to the back of iPhone 12 - 16 models via MagSafe
Cold Shoe Mount: Install the cold shoe foot and mount the clamp to the cold shoe mount on the top of the cage
1/4″-20 Screws: Use two 1/4"-20 screws to secure the clamp to the side of the cage
MagSafe: Attach the clamp directly to the back of iPhone 12 - 16 models via MagSafe
Precautions
1.For bare iPhone use, please remove the cable clamp and cold shoe foot first
2.When using with a case, ensure secure attachment between phone and case
3.Clamping range: SSDs within 40-60mm / 1.6 - 2.4in width and 8-17mm / 0.3 - 0.7in thickness
4.Non-MagSafe phones can be mounted using a magnetic metal ring (not included)
