The black Simera 28 mm combines a wide-angle perspective for street photography, photojournalism, travel, and environmental portraiture with a fast f/1.4 aperture. The Type II crescent-shaped focus ring allows for smooth, one-finger control, and the compact all-metal body preserves the classic ergonomics of the Leica M system.
From the Big Picture to Close-Up Details at 0.4 m
The minimum focusing distance of 0.4 m allows you to capture not only expansive scenes but also close-up details. The floating lens group helps maintain image sharpness across the entire focusing range, from infinity to the closest focusing distance.
A tactile resistance point at 0.7 m indicates that, at shorter distances, it is advisable to switch from rangefinder focusing to checking focus via the EVF or live view.
A Fast Aperture for Images with Depth
The f/1.4 aperture aids in low-light shooting and allows you to separate the subject from the background. Fourteen aperture blades create rounded highlights, smooth transitions outside the plane of focus, and pronounced starburst effects when the aperture is stopped down.
The aperture ring can be switched between stepped and smooth operation, making the lens suitable for both precisely repeatable photographic settings and smooth exposure changes during video recording.
