The Tilta TA-BSP4-15-B is a 15 mm LWS baseplate for the Tilta full camera cages for RED Komodo, Sony FX3, Canon R5C and Panasonic BGH1. It attaches to the base of the cage and adds 15 mm rod holders for a matte box, follow focus or lens support. Underneath it has a Tilta Standard dovetail receiver and 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for a third-party quick release plate. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel, in black.

The Tilta TA-BSP4-15-B is the Type IV baseplate: one plate for the Tilta cages of compact cinema cameras — RED Komodo, Sony FX3, Canon R5C and Panasonic BGH1 — with 15 mm rods and a dovetail receiver underneath.

15 mm rods under the cinema camera cage

The plate attaches to the base of the Tilta full camera cage for RED Komodo, Sony FX3, Canon R5C or Panasonic BGH1. The 15 mm LWS rod holders then carry a matte box, a follow focus or a lens support — accessories that do not go on a compact camera without rods. The rods sit on the axes those accessories expect relative to the lens, so the matte box sits in front of the lens and the follow focus reaches the gear ring.

Tilta Standard dovetail and quick release plates

Underneath, the plate has a Tilta dovetail receiver: the camera slides onto a Tilta Standard dovetail together with its cage and locks, and comes off just as quickly. It gets onto an ARRI dovetail via the Tilta Standard to ARRI Standard Multi-Functional Baseplate. On a tripod head, the 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads take a third-party quick release plate. The body is aluminium alloy and stainless steel.

Tiltaing handles and plates

The Tiltaing range builds the rig around the cage from parts that fit together: side handles with a REC button powered by a Sony F570/F970 battery or USB-C PD, wooden and quick-release top handles, handle adapters to an ARRI rosette, 15 mm LWS baseplates with a Manfrotto or ARCA plate and battery plates with P-Tap and USB-C outputs. They share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with ARRI locating pins, NATO rails and ARRI rosettes. This part is one of them.
