The Tilta 19mm Studio Multi-Functional Baseplate is a studio baseplate for 19 mm rods that puts a rig with a Tilta Standard baseplate onto an ARRI standard dovetail. The upper Tilta adapter can be swapped for a flat top — the plate then becomes a regular ARRI baseplate for most camera systems. Hard-anodised 7075 aluminium and stainless steel, black.

The Tilta 19mm Studio Multi-Functional Baseplate joins two worlds: the lightweight rig built on a Tilta Standard baseplate and the ARRI studio dovetail with a tripod that can carry it.

Tilta Standard on top, ARRI Standard below

The upper part of the plate carries the Tilta Standard adapter: a rig with a Tilta baseplate slides in and locks with the lever, just as on a Tilta dovetail. The lower part sits on an ARRI standard dovetail — the plate slides along it and locks once balanced on the tripod. The rig therefore moves from tripod to shoulder and back without re-screwing the camera.

Flat top: a regular ARRI baseplate

The Tilta Standard adapter unscrews from the plate and is replaced by the flat adapter included in the box. The plate then becomes a regular ARRI standard studio baseplate: a camera or cage bolts to it with two 3/8"-16 screws and the build rides the ARRI dovetail like any large camera. Two Tilta tightening toggles and four hex screws are included.

19 mm rods and 7075 aluminium

A pair of holders takes 19 mm studio rods (104 mm spacing) for a matte box, follow focus, lens support and other accessories of heavier builds. The plate is CNC-milled from hard-anodised 7075 aluminium alloy with stainless steel hardware — built for large cameras and long lenses that get balanced on an ARRI dovetail.

Tilta 15 and 19 mm rods

Rods are the backbone of a rig: 15 mm rods (LWS standard, 60 mm spacing) carry baseplates, follow focus, matte box, lens supports and motor mounts; 19 mm stainless rods (studio standard, 104 mm spacing) take heavy builds with large lenses. Tilta makes 15 mm rods in aluminium, black or silver, 100–300 mm long, and 19 mm rods in stainless steel, 200–600 mm; rods with threaded ends join end to end with a connection screw. This part is one of them.
