The Tilta TA-SRC-NATO-B clamp puts a whole NATO rail onto a 50 mm speed rail tube. The locking washer tightens by hand, and with an allen key when needed; two safety pins keep accessories in place even under vibration. The rail carries 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with locating points and the whole thing takes a payload of up to 8 kg.

Car rigs are built from 50 mm speed rail tubing — but most accessories will not mount on a bare tube. This clamp wraps around the tube and offers a NATO rail with safety pins instead, an interface that a wireless transmitter, a monitor or a smaller camera body already speaks. The 8 kg payload covers a mirrorless body with a lens.

Locking washer by hand or by key

The large locking washer opens and tightens with your fingers, so the clamp goes on without tools. Holes around its rim let you tighten it further with an allen key or a similar bar when the rig has to carry a full load.

Safety pins against slipping off

The NATO rail carries two safety pins that stop an accessory sliding off the clamp. On a car, where the rig shakes the whole time, that is the difference between a transmitter that stays put and one that does not.

Payload up to 8 kg

The maker states a payload of 8 kg, enough for a smaller camera body with a lens, a monitor or an action camera on an arm. The body is made of aluminium alloy and stainless steel.

What is on the clamp

A 50 mm rod holder with the locking washer at one end, a NATO rail with a safety pin and 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with locating points against rotation at the other.

The threads with locating points keep accessories from rotating, so a monitor or a transmitter will not end up hanging crooked after a few kilometres. The clamp is meant for 50 mm tubing; do not use it on thinner tubes or on 15 mm and 19 mm rod systems.
