The Tilta MB-T16-POLA is a rotatable 95 mm circular polarizer built specifically for the Mirage matte box. PL + CPL technology limits reflected light, cuts glare from water or glass, and keeps colors rich and accurate. The module turns by hand or wirelessly with the optional Mirage motor, and with the light clamp-on adapter it sits directly on the lens without a matte box. Developed with top-tier optical manufacturers; a soft case is included.

The Tilta 95mm Polarizer Filter for Mirage is a polarizing module that slides into the Mirage matte box like a tray and turns on a geared ring — just like the VND module, only you are tuning polarization instead of density. It is the filter for shooting by water, through shop windows and across car bodywork, where glare otherwise strips color and contrast.

Glare gone, colors rich

The PL + CPL polarizing glass passes light from one direction only, so reflections from a water surface, glass or paint disappear and sky, foliage or skin take on richer, truer color. The polarization angle is set by turning the geared ring on the top edge of the module without touching the glass, and the module sits in the Mirage matte box like any other tray. The filter was developed with top-tier optical manufacturers.

Motor and light build, just like the VND module

The module carries the same mounting points as the VND module: the Mirage wireless motor fits on top and polarization is then changed from the controller, even with the camera on a gimbal. It suits lightweight builds just as well — via the light clamp-on adapter it holds directly on a 95 mm lens or an adapter ring without the matte box body. The polarizer and the VND module cannot be used at the same time; a reversed VND module can polarize too, but you lose the motor.

The Tilta Mirage matte box

Mirage is a lightweight matte box for 95 mm circular filters: it mounts to the lens with an adapter ring matching the filter thread, filters sit in stackable trays and an optional wireless motor turns the VND module. The parts of the Mirage family combine — rings, trays, VND, 15 mm rod support and hood all belong to the same matte box, including this one.
