The Tilta TCB-AFH-USBC-35 is a USB-C → USB-C cable that links the Tilta Advanced Side Focus Handle to the Nucleus Nano II motor: one cable carries the motor control and its power from the battery in the handle, so the motor needs no other source. The second generation has a right-angle plug for the recessed port of the handle and a straight plug with a USB-C pass-through socket on the motor side. Length 35 cm.

The Tilta TCB-AFH-USBC-35 is the only cable a focus handle with a motor needs: the handle holds the battery and the focus wheel, the Nucleus Nano II motor sits on the rods at the lens and gets commands and current over this cable. No wireless transmitter, no second battery.

Handle at one end, Nano II motor at the other

The right-angle USB-C plug goes into the recessed port of the Advanced Side Focus Handle — the low profile does not stick out of the handle and stays out of the way of the hand. The straight USB-C plug at the other end goes into the port of the Nucleus Nano II motor; next to it is a USB-C pass-through socket. The handle powers and controls the motor over the cable, so focusing with the wheel on the handle and powering the motor take a single connection, with no extra battery or cable to the plate.

35 cm and a low profile

The 35 cm length leaves slack for lenses of different lengths and different handle positions on the cage — the motor can sit forward on the rods at a wide zoom or close to the body at a short prime. The right-angle plug runs the cable along the handle, so the hand on the handle does not crush it. The cable is straight, with copper conductors, black; it is the second generation (V2) of the cable for the Nano II motor.

The Tilta TCB cable range links camera, battery and accessories on the rig: power from a V-Mount or Gold Mount plate over P-Tap, 2-pin Lemo, 3-pin Fischer or a DC barrel connector, USB-C PD for monitors and handles, 7-pin control cables for the Nucleus system and HDMI or BNC for the picture. Lengths follow the rig — short on the cage, longer out to arms and batteries; this cable is one of them.
