The Tilta Basic Kit is the cage for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and 6K G2, rounded out with what runs short first on a shoot. The quick release top handle carries the camera handheld and overhead, the SSD holder rides the Samsung T5 right on the cage, and the angled HDMI and USB-C connectors spare the camera ports. The 15 mm rod holder mounts together with the original battery grip. Camera, grip and drive are not included.

The Tilta Basic Kit TA-T11-B-B is the cage for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and 6K G2 with the essential accessories: a quick release top handle, an SSD holder for the Samsung T5, a 15 mm rod holder for the battery grip, an angled HDMI adapter and an angled USB-C cable. It is enough to carry the camera in your hand, hang a monitor on it and record to an external drive.

The rig you unbox

The Basic Kit is the cage plus what you miss first on a shoot: a quick release top handle, an SSD drive holder, a 15 mm rod holder for the battery grip and a pair of angled connectors for HDMI and USB-C. Camera, battery grip and SSD are not included.

Aluminium armour around the whole camera body

The cage wraps around the body of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and 6K G2 and protects it from wear and knocks. 1/4″-20 threads with locating pins run all around it so accessories cannot twist, plus cold shoe receivers and a NATO rail for Type IV and VI side handles. The body is aluminium alloy and stainless steel.

The right side arm comes off

The right side module unscrews and the full cage becomes a half cage — a lighter build for a gimbal or aerial work. The arm carries an ARRI compatible rosette for the Adjustable Top Handle Plus, 1/4″-20 threads with locating pins and a NATO rail.

The SSD rides on the cage, not on the cable

The SSD holder bolts straight onto the cage with a 1/4″ screw and a locating pin, clamps a Samsung T5 drive and connects to the camera with the supplied angled USB-C cable. The cable also screws into the side panel of the cage, so it cannot fall out mid-take and the connector cannot bend.

Angled HDMI adapter and USB-C cable

The angled HDMI adapter sits at the camera HDMI port and saves the socket that a straight cable would lever against. The 30 cm angled USB-C cable carries the signal from the camera to the SSD holder. Both parts screw to the cage, so the connectors hold even handheld.

15 mm rod holder for the battery grip

With the original battery grip on the camera, the 15 mm rod holder bolts onto the rig and two rods reach out in front of the lens. A follow focus, a lens support or a matte box then rides on them. The holder is part of the Basic Kit and with the bare cage it is bought separately; the rods themselves are not in the Basic Kit, they only come with the Advanced Kit.

Fits with the original battery grip too

The cage is designed around the original Blackmagic Design battery grip. In the half cage setup the bottom plate moves to the underside of the grip, so the rig stays together and can still go on a tripod or gimbal. The grip is not included.

Move the viewfinder off the camera

The electronic viewfinder that Blackmagic sells separately for the BMPCC 6K Pro does not have to sit on the camera body. The Tilta extension cable (TA-T11-EEC-30 or -60) carries the signal to it and the Tiltaing EVF Extension Bracket holds it where you need it — above the camera, to the side, upright. That helps handheld and on a gimbal alike. The viewfinder, the cable and the bracket are not part of the kit.

Cage dimensions and weight

The cage alone measures 195.7 × 145 × 110 mm and weighs 187.3 g. The bottom plate offers several 1/4″-20 points for third-party quick release plates and is compatible with the ARCA receiver of the DJI RS 2 mounting plate, so the camera moves onto the gimbal without further adapters.

What to watch out for

Camera, lens, battery grip and SSD are not included.

The SSD holder is made for the Samsung T5 drive. If you receive a kit with a T7 holder, contact the manufacturer at sales@tilta.com.

The 15 mm rod holder mounts together with the original battery grip. A full matte box build needs the 15 mm LWS baseplate, which only comes with the Advanced Kit.
