The Tilta Basic Ring Grip Plus (Control Kit) is a ring frame with two grips for DJI Ronin gimbals. You hold the gimbal at two points instead of one, so the shot is steadier and your arms last longer. The Control Kit also includes a control handle that drives the gimbal directly — joystick, M button and camera trigger. The frame is magnesium-aluminium alloy, has cold shoe mounts for accessories and an integrated stand.

The Basic Ring Grip Plus is Tilta's most affordable support system for the DJI RS 2, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro and RS 5 gimbals. The ring frame surrounds the gimbal and offers two mechanical grips — holding at two points is noticeably steadier than ordinary one-handed operation. The Control Kit version adds a wireless control handle.

A control handle for the gimbal

The control handle has a joystick, an M button and a camera trigger, so you steer the gimbal with one hand and hold the frame with the other. Silicone cladding on both sides does not slip even in a sweaty hand. The handle does not control focus — only the Advanced series handles do that.

Power from the battery grip

The frame is compatible with the DJI Ronin battery grip, so the gimbal runs longer than its own battery would allow. The battery grip can also be turned upwards and used as a top handle, which switches you quickly to low-angle work.

Cold shoe mounts for accessories

The built-in cold shoe mounts carry a monitor, a wireless video transmitter or a microphone. There are several attachment points, so accessories can be placed to suit the way you hold the rig. The integrated stand lets you set the gimbal down between takes without laying it on its side.

Gold Mount and V-Mount battery plates

The frame has the same mating surfaces as the other Ring Grip models, so Gold Mount and V-Mount battery plates fit it. Through the Power Supply Module the battery can also feed an external monitor or transmitter. Plates and module are sold separately.

Manufacturer's warning

When the system is not in use, remove the battery grip and the attached battery. The Ring Grip draws current from a connected battery even when idle and can fully discharge and permanently damage it.

The control handle is powered only while it is connected to the Ring Grip frame.
