The Tilta TCB-BMPC-RNS is a power cable that links the 12 V output of the DJI Ronin-S gimbal to the power input of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K or 6K. The camera on the gimbal then runs from the Ronin-S battery instead of its own, so it need not come off for a battery change and the balance stays as set.

The Tilta TCB-BMPC-RNS solves the weakest link on a gimbal: the camera battery. The DJI Ronin-S has a 12 V output on its body for powering the camera, and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K has a power input on its side — this cable connects the two, and the Pocket runs from the gimbal battery.

From the Ronin-S 12 V output into the Pocket's power input

On the gimbal side is the plug for the 12 V power output of the DJI Ronin-S, on the camera side a locking 2-pin plug for the power input of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K. The cable is short and straight, so it forms no loop on the gimbal that could snag as the axes turn, and the locking plug does not pull out of the camera in motion. The connectors are aluminium alloy and ABS plastic, the jacket is rubber.

A balanced gimbal without battery changes

The Pocket's internal battery lasts only briefly, and every change means taking the camera off the gimbal and rebalancing it. With the cable from the Ronin-S the camera runs from the gimbal battery — and when that runs down, the Pocket switches to the internal battery without interrupting recording. The camera stays on the gimbal for the whole shoot and the balance does not change.

The Tilta TCB cable range links camera, battery and accessories on the rig: power from a V-Mount or Gold Mount plate over P-Tap, 2-pin Lemo, 3-pin Fischer or a DC barrel connector, USB-C PD for monitors and handles, 7-pin control cables for the Nucleus system and HDMI or BNC for the picture. Lengths follow the rig — short on the cage, longer out to arms and batteries; this cable is one of them.
