The Tilta MB-T17-BSF Bottom Flag is a carbon-fibre flag for the underside of the Mirage Pro matte box. It cuts light reflected up from the ground — asphalt, water, a white studio floor — that is, from the direction where an ordinary hood is no help — and which the top flag cannot catch. It folds to the angle you need, fits without tools and is not included in the MB-T17 or MB-T17-A kits.

The Bottom Flag for the Tilta Mirage Pro Matte Box is a removable carbon-fibre flag that mounts under the matte box body. It handles the one direction the top and side flags leave open: light bouncing up from below.

Cuts light bouncing up from below

Light reflected off asphalt, off water or off a white studio floor hits the filters from below and creates a veil the top flag never sees. The bottom flag mounts under the matte box body and cuts that direction off. It folds to the angle you need and folds away for transport.

Carbon fibre, no tools needed

The flag is carbon fibre throughout with a matte surface, so it adds no weight and does not reflect on its own. It fits without tools and comes off just as fast. It is not in the MB-T17 or MB-T17-A kits — it is bought separately, as are both side flags.
