The Base Kit pairs the Tilta full camera cage in silver for the Canon EOS R50 V with the Tilta Compact NATO Top Handle. The cage carries an ARCA-Swiss bottom plate, a NATO rail, a cold shoe and 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins; the handle adds more threads and a second cold shoe for a monitor or microphone. You can carry the camera from above and still drop it straight onto a tripod or gimbal.

A cage built for the Canon EOS R50 V

The cage follows the outline of the R50 V body, so it sits without play and protects the edges and the base of the camera. Silicone padding inside keeps the body from getting scratched or slipping. A built-in handgrip with a silicone surface is shaped to the curve of the palm — the rig is more comfortable to hold than a plain cage without a grip.

Mount whatever you need

An ARCA-Swiss bottom plate, a NATO rail, a cold shoe and 1/4"-20 threads with locating pins, plus a 3/8"-16 thread — the cage takes a tripod, a gimbal, a top handle, a microphone or a light. All three main mounts, the ARCA-Swiss plate, the NATO rail and the cold shoe, are detachable: take off what you are not using and save the weight. The multi-functional magnetic screwdriver holds itself to the cage magnetically, so it is always at hand.

Comfortable in the hand

The built-in handgrip has a silicone surface shaped to the curve of the palm and does not slip in heat or humidity. You can carry the camera one-handed through a longer shoot — and since the cage itself weighs 100 g in its minimal configuration, the rig stays light.

The camera stays accessible

The cage screws to the body at two points, so it cannot twist and holds firmly even when you carry the rig by a top handle. At the same time it leaves the ports, the control buttons and the battery compartment free — the cutout around the door is shaped so that you can change the battery without taking the cage off.

Two finishes

The cage is made in black and in silver. Silver matches the light R50 V body, black matches darker gear — pick whichever suits the rest of your rig. The two versions are otherwise identical; only the finish differs.

What the Base Kit adds

The Base Kit is the full camera cage plus the Tilta Compact NATO Top Handle. The handle clamps onto the NATO rail of the cage, adds further 1/4"-20 threads and a second cold shoe for a monitor or microphone, and above all lets you carry the rig from above. The cage on its own is sold separately as the Tilta Full Camera Cage for Canon R50 V.

Worth knowing

The cage is designed for the Canon EOS R50 V body and does not fit other models. The camera, lens, tripod, microphone and other accessories shown in the pictures are not included.
