The Tilta TA-T63-A-B kit turns the Panasonic Lumix G9 II into a proper filming rig. The full cage protects the body and adds a NATO rail, a cold shoe and 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with locating pins. The dual-directional ARCA bottom plate drops onto a DJI gimbal or onto the included baseplate for 15 mm rods, the Xeno top handle makes handheld work easier and a detachable clamp secures the cables.

From tripod to gimbal in one click

The bottom plate of the cage is a dual-directional ARCA plate — it mounts to a DJI RS gimbal or to the included baseplate for 15 mm rods, lengthwise and crosswise alike. Moving between tripod and gimbal therefore needs no re-screwing of quick-release plates. The bottom of the baseplate is also natively compatible with standard Tilta dovetail plates and carries 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads for third-party quick-release plates.

NATO rail, cold shoe and threads all around

Around the cage sit a NATO rail, a cold shoe and 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with locating pins. A monitor, microphone, light or arm can be mounted without adapters and without the risk of an accessory rotating on its own. The Xeno top handle attaches with a single 1/4″-20 screw with locating pins, so it holds firmly and adds another cold shoe and further threads.

Security clamps that stop rotation

The cage connects to the body at three points: the bottom screw and two side security clamps. The frame therefore cannot rotate even with a heavy lens or a full rig on top. The sides also carry shoulder strap holders, so the camera can hang on a strap fully rigged.

Anti-slip mesh around the handgrip

An anti-slip mesh pattern surrounds the camera handgrip and improves the hold during long handheld takes. The silicone section takes away the slipperiness of bare aluminium and keeps your fingers where they belong. The cage still leaves the battery door and the card slot accessible, so nothing has to come off for a swap.

Detachable cable clamp

The included cable clamp holds the cables screwed to the cage, not to the camera body — a tug on the cable does not end at the connector. The clamp is detachable, so it stays out of the way for handheld stills. At the bottom of the cage sits a magnetically stored multi-functional screwdriver that assembles and dismantles the whole rig.

Compatibility and limitations

The cage is designed for the Panasonic Lumix G9 II body.

The bottom plate uses the ARCA implementation of the DJI standard. Tilta notes that it is not compatible with all receivers and does not guarantee compatibility — check the fit before use with third-party quick-release systems.

The baseplate supports a pair of 15 mm rods; the rods are not part of the kit.
