The Tilta DB-BP-2LE is a Canon BP dummy battery with a cable ending in a 2-pin Lemo plug. It sits in the battery compartment of a camera or accessory that uses Canon BP-9xx series batteries (BP-955, BP-975) — typically the RED KOMODO — and powers it from a 2-pin Lemo output, for example a V-Mount battery hung under the gimbal plate via the Tilta Power Pass-through Plate Kit. The camera runs the whole shoot without its own battery, even where an external battery will not fit on the cage.

The Tilta DB-BP-2LE replaces the Canon BP battery with a cable. The dummy battery has the shape and contacts of the original BP-9xx series pack, slides into the compartment just like it and draws its power from outside over 2-pin Lemo. It suits any build where the camera is rigged so that there is nowhere to hang an external battery — on a gimbal, in a small cage, on the shoulder.

Canon BP dummy battery for the RED KOMODO and more

The dummy battery goes into the compartment in place of a Canon BP-9xx series pack (BP-955, BP-975): into the RED KOMODO, which runs on these batteries, into Canon bodies with this battery series (EOS C100 Mark II, the first EOS C300) and into accessories powered by BP batteries. The front carries the Tilta logo; the back has the contacts laid out like the original, so the dummy sits in the compartment just like a battery. The construction is copper and steel.

2-pin Lemo at the other end

The other end of the cable is a 2-pin Lemo plug — a locking connector that holds once inserted and does not pull out on its own when the cable is tugged. It goes into the 2-pin Lemo output of the source: for a RED KOMODO on a DJI RS 2 gimbal that is the Tilta Power Pass-through Plate Kit, which draws power from a V-Mount or Gold Mount battery hung under the gimbal plate; on a cage, a V-Mount or Gold Mount plate with a 2-pin Lemo port. The camera is then powered from one large battery together with the rest of the accessories.

Tilta dummy batteries

A dummy battery has the shape and contacts of the original pack, sits in the battery compartment and brings power in by cable from outside — from a V-Mount or Gold Mount plate via P-Tap, from a USB-C PD source, over 2-pin Lemo or a DC output.
