The Tilta EN-EL15C replacement battery charges straight from a cable through its own USB-C input — no charger and no dock required. The cell delivers 2400 mAh, that is 17.28 Wh at a nominal voltage of 7.2 V, and a full charge takes about 2.5 hours. Its dimensions match the original, so it fits the camera without any adapter. The Tilta EN-EL15C is a replacement battery for Nikon cameras that take the original EN-EL15C cell. Its size and shape match the original, so it drops into the battery compartment without play and without adapters. The difference is the USB-C input on the battery itself: it charges from an ordinary cable off a power bank, a laptop or a mains adapter, so there is no charger to pack. The input handles 5 V / 2 A (10 W) and a full charge takes roughly 2.5 hours.

Inside sits a decoding chip that passes battery data to the body. The camera therefore shows the state of charge as a percentage exactly as with the original and raises no unrecognised-battery message. The 2400 mAh capacity is higher than that of the original cell; measured by Tilta to the CIPA standard, the battery delivers 352 stills or 124 minutes of video on a single charge.

The housing is PC + ABS and the battery carries multi-stage protection — against overcharge, deep discharge, short circuit, overcurrent, overheating and magnetic fields.
