The Tilta Float Dual Handle Support System is the version of the Float built around the dual handle bracket for the DJI RS 2 gimbal. A spring loaded stabilizing arm and a support vest move the weight of the rig off the arms and onto the body, so shooting stays steady for longer. The kit holds the vest, the arm, a Manfrotto adapter, a power supply module with a mechanical extension, an RS 2 remote control handle and a carrying case. Net weight of the kit is 7.5 kg.

A gimbal holds the image steady, but the operator still holds the weight. The Float passes that weight through a spring loaded arm into a vest and spreads it across the body — so the shooting day is not decided by how long the arms hold out.

Vest and spring loaded arm

The support vest spreads the load across shoulders and hips and the spring loaded arm hangs the gimbal from it. The arm evens out vertical movement, so the bounce disappears from walking shots, and it keeps the rig balanced even when the operator lets go with both hands.

What is in the kit

Support vest GSS-T01-SV, stabilizing arm GSS-T01-ARM, Manfrotto adapter GSS-T01-QPA, power supply module TGA-PSM, mechanical extension TGA-ME, RS 2 remote control handle with battery (TGA-ARG-RCH) and carrying case GSS-T01-CC. Everything fits into the one case and is ready to put on.

Dual handle bracket and power

The power supply module together with the mechanical extension forms the dual handle bracket under the RS 2 gimbal. It feeds the gimbal from a V-Mount or Gold Mount battery, so gimbal and accessories run far longer than on the gimbal’s own battery, and it offers mounting points on both sides.

RS 2 remote control handle

The included handle controls pan and tilt of the RS 2 gimbal, starts and stops recording and switches to photo mode. Its focus wheel drives a DJI or Nucleus focus motor wirelessly. The operator therefore never has to reach for the gimbal or the camera.

What to watch out for

The kit does not include the Float Post. The manufacturer does not sell it separately — the only way to get it is the complete Tilta Float Handheld Gimbal Support System. The kit is built around the DJI RS 2; with other gimbals check first that the dual handle bracket can be attached.
