The Tilta HDMI to Micro HDMI Adapter is a short adapter that turns the camera's Micro HDMI port into a full-size HDMI female socket. A regular HDMI cable then runs to the external monitor or wireless transmitter, and the fragile Micro HDMI connector on the camera body carries no cable strain. It is intended for the Tilta cages for the Sony a7/a9 and a6 series; black, made of rubber, copper and ABS.

The Tilta HDMI to Micro HDMI Adapter (HDMI-01-M) is a Micro HDMI to HDMI female adapter for the Tilta cages for the Sony a7/a9 and a6 — the regular HDMI cable to the monitor or transmitter plugs into it, not into the camera.

From Micro HDMI to a full HDMI socket

At one end the adapter has a Micro HDMI connector that plugs into the camera, at the other an HDMI female socket. An external monitor or transmitter is then connected with a regular full-size HDMI cable that can be secured in the cage — the camera's Micro HDMI port stays free of strain and the risk of breaking. The adapter is designed for the Tilta cages for the Sony a7/a9 and a6 series.

The Tilta cage system

A Tilta cage is only the start: every series has parts designed for the camera body — top handles, side handles with a REC button, HDMI and USB-C cable clamps, battery plates, 15 mm rod holders, lens adapters and ARCA or NATO interfaces. The parts share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating pins, NATO rails and cold shoes, so they combine across series. This part is one of them.
