Khronos is an aluminium case (frame of aluminium alloy) for the iPhone 16 Pro — it does not fit the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which has its own Tilta version. It weighs 58.5 g, snaps on without tools and carries Khronos locking clamps all around for handles, cooling, a filter tray, lights and a USB-C hub. Contacts inside the frame feed power to accessories and the iPhone capacitive Camera Control button stays usable. A multifunctional magnetic backplate is included.

Khronos looks like a camera cage and behaves like one. The frame is milled from 6-series aluminium alloy, lined inside with silicone across its whole surface and backed by a thicker anti-slip pad, so the phone sits tight and survives knocks. Even so it is the lightest Khronos yet: the iPhone 16 Pro version weighs 58.5 g, 15% less than the iPhone 15 Pro generation.

Installation needs no tools. The second-generation Khronos quick release simply snaps the phone in and secures it with an independent locking slider — no screws, no fuss. The capacitive Camera Control button introduced with the iPhone 16 is carried through to the outside of the case, so the camera works exactly as it does on a bare phone. The USB-C port stays accessible: the Khronos Focus PD handle connects to the phone with its own USB-C cable while the case is on.

Khronos locking clamps run around the frame. The Focus PD handle, cooling module, filter tray, LED light, USB-C hub or lens adapter click straight onto them — accessories are not screwed on, they drop in and lock. If you need a conventional photographic standard, the Khronos adapters cover it: the universal adapter with a 1/4"-20 thread and the 38 mm Arca-Swiss quick release plate. The frame itself has no 1/4"-20 thread, no cold shoe and no NATO rail.

Electrical contacts run through the frame — according to the manufacturer, Khronos is the first case with built-in circuitry. Together with the Focus PD handle and its 5000 mAh battery they power connected accessories. The magnetic area on the back stays usable: the manufacturer states that the Khronos cooling module attaches magnetically over MagSafe with or without the case, charging the phone wirelessly at 5 or 10 W. The frame is designed to let the GPS signal through.

The box includes the multifunctional magnetic backplate. It holds magnetically and locks mechanically onto the Khronos case. It does three things: the fold-out kickstand props the phone up on a desk in portrait or landscape, the pop-out finger strap secures your hand while filming, and the retractable utility knife opens boxes. The corner of the backplate works as a flat screwdriver and the edge carries engraved ruler markings.
