The Handheld Kit is a ready-made handheld rig for shooting on the iPhone 16 Pro — note that it does not fit the iPhone 16 Pro Max. On top of the bare case it adds the Khronos Focus PD handle with a 5000 mAh battery that drives focus, zoom and record start over Bluetooth, plus a filter tray and two magnetic ND filters, FSND 0.6 and 1.2. The case and the multifunctional backplate are part of the kit.

The kit is more than a case. The Khronos case is its base — an all-aluminium frame for the iPhone 16 Pro with locking clamps all around and with the multifunctional magnetic backplate — but the important parts only clip on afterwards. If you just want protection, buy the case on its own; if you want to shoot with focus control, exposure control and a proper grip, this is the kit.

The Khronos Focus PD handle holds the phone and powers it at the same time. Inside is a 5000 mAh battery and an integrated USB-C cable (70 mm, output only), so the phone charges while you shoot; the handle itself recharges over USB-C with 20 W PD fast charging. The dial on the front controls focus or zoom over Bluetooth: in APP mode it drives zoom and focus in the Blackmagic Cam app, in HID mode it takes stills and starts and stops recording. The record button sits under your thumb, so you never let go of the handle to roll.

For audio the handle has its own 3.5 mm microphone input supporting TRRS plugs. An external source with a TRS plug needs a 3.5 mm TRS to 3.5 mm TRRS adapter cable, which is not included. Switching between landscape and portrait runs through the Khronos quick release; with the handle attached, however, vertical configurations are limited.

The filter tray attaches magnetically to the case and its swivel arm drops it over all three iPhone lenses at once. Two magnetic FSND ND filters come with the kit: 0.6 (two stops) and 1.2 (four stops). They let you keep the aperture open and the shutter at 1/50 s in daylight, so motion stays smooth and colours stay true.
