The Tilta Khronos case is an aluminium shell (frame of aluminium alloy) that turns the iPhone 17 Pro into a compact cine camera. Khronos mounting points with a locking clamp run around the frame for handles, a cooling module, an LED panel or a USB-C hub, and the front takes a 58mm filter tray or a lens adapter. Mind the model: the version for the iPhone 17 Pro Max is a different product (TK-IP17-PMFC-*). The box holds the case, a screen protector and a lanyard. Colour Space Gray.

The Khronos Case is an aluminium case (frame of aluminium alloy) for the iPhone 17 Pro in Space Gray. It snaps on and comes off just as fast, with no need to detach the accessories already mounted. It is more than a shell, though: Khronos mounting points run around the frame, so the phone becomes a camera in seconds and goes back in your pocket just as quickly.

Pro and Pro Max are not interchangeable

This item is made for the iPhone 17 Pro. It does not fit the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which has its own product (TK-IP17-PMFC-*). The part numbers differ by a single letter, but the phones differ in size and in button placement, so check the exact model before you order.

Locking clamp and accessory interfaces

Accessories attach to the case with a locking clamp: press the button, seat the part on the pins, release the button. No tools involved, so switching from a horizontal to a vertical shot takes seconds. The case itself carries no native 1/4"-20 thread, cold shoe or NATO rail; you get those through Khronos adapters that snap into the clamp: the Universal NATO Mount carries a NATO rail and a 1/4"-20 thread, the Cold Shoe Quick Release Adapter carries a cold shoe. The case also has electrical contact points along its length, so with the optional Power Handle power passes through them to the mounted accessories.

Filters and add-on lenses

The slot at the front takes the Khronos 58mm Filter Tray for Tilta 58mm magnetic circular filters, the Quick Release Filter Tray for Khronos magnetic filters, or a lens adapter with a 17mm thread or a T-series mount (Fotogear, and with the supplied spacer also Moment). A safety buckle locks the tray in place; press it to slide the tray out.

Rugged build

The top cover is reinforced against bending, the finish is micro-arc anodised to a matte ceramic look, and the sides carry an anti-slip pattern, so the phone stays in your hand even without a handle. The body is aluminium alloy with plastic and silicone.

Backplate and magnetic ring

The back of the case has a recess for the Khronos Multi-Functional Backplate, which carries a kickstand for standing the phone up either way on a desk, a flat-head driver in the corner, a slide-out box cutter and a ruler along the edge. A magnetic ring drops into its centre and doubles as a grip or a stand, rotating 360°; an optional magnetic card holder goes in the same place instead. The backplate is not included with the case and is sold separately (TK-IP17-PBP-SG).

What to add

The case is the base and the rest is your choice: the Focus PD handle with a battery and focus and zoom control, the Cooling System V2, the USB-C hub with HDMI and an Arca-Swiss plate, an LED panel, magnetic filters, lens adapters, NATO and cold shoe adapters. If you would rather have it all at once, take a finished kit.
