The Tilta Khronos Black Mist 1/2 magnetic diffusion filter for iPhone lowers contrast and puts a gentle glow around lights. Black Mist keeps contrast in the shadows and tempers the overall softening, an understated classic look; strength 1/2 is the stronger of the two. It drops magnetically into the Khronos quick release filter tray on a Khronos case for iPhone 15, 16 and 17 Pro / Pro Max.

Tilta Khronos Magnetic Black Mist 1/2 is a diffusion filter for iPhone within the Khronos system. The phone camera draws sharp to the point of harsh; diffusion glass softens the edges and blooms the lights without blurring the picture. The number gives the strength — 1/4 is subtler, 1/2 more pronounced; this one is 1/2.

Into the Khronos filter tray

The filter is a single glass covering all three iPhone lenses. It drops into the Khronos quick release filter tray, where a magnet holds it — fitting or swapping takes a second, no threads, even mid-shoot. The tray attaches magnetically to the Khronos case and swings down over the lenses. The glass is far thinner and lighter than conventional screw-in filters. Tray and case are not included — without them the filter has nothing to hold on to.

Black Mist 1/2: classic diffusion

Black Mist lowers contrast and produces a subtle glow around light sources while limiting overall softness and retaining contrast in the shadows. The result is a soft atmosphere with sharpness and more shadow detail than a standard mist filter — the classic diffused film look that never draws attention to itself. Strength 1/2 is the stronger one; the subtler version is 1/4. The colour-true glass protects the lenses from scratches, smudges and debris.
