The Khronos Multi-Functional Magnetic Backplate snaps magnetically onto the back of the iPhone 17 Pro and adds a kickstand, a magnetic ring that rotates 360°, a flat-head driver, a slide-out box cutter and a ruler along the edge. It needs no case to work, but on the Khronos case for the iPhone 17 Pro it also locks in mechanically. The plate for the iPhone 17 Pro Max has its own part number (TK-IP17-PMBP-SG). The Khronos Multi-Functional Magnetic Backplate is a standalone part for the iPhone 17 Pro in Space Gray. It holds magnetically on the back of the phone and adds the things you would otherwise carry separately: a kickstand, a grip, a driver and a box cutter.

A plate, not a case

The plate holds magnetically, so no case is needed. The manufacturer lists compatibility with the iPhone 15, 16 and 17 Pro and Pro Max, that is with phones that support magnetic accessories. The magnetic ring on the plate also works with other magnetic accessories.

Kickstand, ring and tools in one

The plate brings together three tools and three ways to hold the phone. The kickstand stands it up on a desk in portrait or landscape, a flat-head driver sits in the corner, a box cutter slides out from the side and the edge of the plate is a ruler. A magnetic ring drops into the recess in the middle: hold it like a grip, rotate it 360°, or fold it out as a stand. An optional magnetic card holder can take the ring’s place.

Even firmer on the Khronos case

Put the plate on the Khronos case for the iPhone 17 Pro and it drops into the recess and locks in mechanically. That joint is considerably stronger than the magnet on its own.

Pro and Pro Max are not interchangeable

This item is made for the iPhone 17 Pro. It does not fit the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which has its own product (TK-IP17-PMBP-SG). The part numbers differ by a single letter, but the phones differ in size and in button placement, so check the exact model before you order.

What to add

The plate also suits the Khronos case, which has a recess in its back ready for it. The case for the iPhone 17 Pro is TK-IP17-PFC-SG and is sold separately.
