The Tilta Mini V-Mount Battery Plate Kit I is a V-Mount battery plate plus an adapter for 15mm LWS rods. The plate measures 85 × 105 mm and weighs 128 grams; the adapter mounts it on the rods horizontally, vertically or flat, so the battery hangs exactly where it balances the camera. The plate itself carries no power connectors — it is a battery mount.

V-Mount batteries have the largest capacity of any format, but the classic plate for them weighs almost as much as a small camera. This one is shrunk to 85 × 105 millimetres and 128 grams. The kit already includes the adapter for 15mm LWS rods, so the plate has somewhere to go from day one.

Plate and rod adapter in one package

The package holds the Mini V-Mount battery plate and the adapter for 15mm LWS rods. The adapter grips the plate at two points and allows horizontal, vertical or flat mounting depending on where the battery needs to balance the rig.

Eighty-five by one hundred and five millimetres

The plate measures 85 × 105 millimetres and weighs 128 grams. It therefore fits inside the weight limit of most gimbals and does not enlarge the outline of a small body, even though it carries a full-size V-Mount battery.

Two clamping points on 15mm LWS rods

The plate carries thirty-nine threads: eight 1/4″-20, four M3 and two M4 at the front; ten 1/4″-20, twelve M4, one 3/8″-16 with locating points and two 3/8″-16 at the back; four M4 on each side. The plate can therefore be bolted on without the adapter too — to a cage, an arm or a gimbal plate.

A latch against the battery falling out

The V-Mount latch has a catch against sliding out and rotating and accepts V-Mount batteries from every common brand. The plate itself has no power outputs; power runs by cable from the P-Tap connector on the battery.
